DETROIT, MI - June 21, 2017- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit, the area’s largest organization offering one-to-one mentoring, announced today the addition of Jay Alexander as Vice President of Development and Operations.
Previously, the Manager of Strategic Partnerships at Detroit PAL, Alexander will lead all fundraising efforts for Big Brothers Big Sisters, with a focus on corporate and individual giving, as well as oversee key operations within the organization.
“Adding Alexander strengthens the agency’s internal leadership and is part of a growth strategy to build our capacity to serve more vulnerable and at-risk youth in Wayne,Oakland and Macomb counties,” said Jeannine Gant, President and CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit.
“Since I became the head of this organization in 2014, our focus has been on right sizing and sustaining our efforts after changes in key federal funding. Now we are ready and want to grow because the need for getting youth mentors is tremendous. Jay’s experience in building partnerships will be instrumental for engaging the community in our mission”, said Gant.
